Elsie Lewis Chichester Jones, age 81, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer. She is the wife of the late Franklin Lee Jones and the daughter of the late Lewis Milton and Elsie Wood Chichester of Littleton.

She was a loving wife and mother, and was dearly loved by all her family and friends. She was affectionately known as MomEl to all who knew and loved her. Elsie loved the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she attended and has served in numerous capacities. She had an appreciation for beautiful music, was an incredible pianist, and a wonderful cook.

Elsie is survived by her four children: Janice (Mark) Given of Roanoke Rapids, Karen (Bud) Nelson South Jordan, Utah, Frankie (Paula) Jones of Roanoke Rapids, and Lori (Jeff) Garrett of Milton, Ga, as well as 22 grandchildren: Blaine (Janelle) Given, Chase Given, Kyle (Lauren) Given, Taylor Given, Kerri Given, Nikki (Dustin) Hales, Buddy (Alissa) Nelson, Lance Nelson, Kelly (Brian) Norman, Maggie (Sean) Kuepper, Sara Nelson, Brooke Nelson, Morgan Jones, Spencer Jones, Kaili (Anders) Jacobson, Julia Jones, Benson Jones, Natalie Jones, Madison Garrett, Haley Garrett, Cameron Garrett, and Mallory Garrett. As well as 9 great grandchildren: Lee Given, Jacklyn Given, Bella Given, Bolton Given, Allie Given, Paisley Given, Ryder Hales, Annie Hales and Skylar Kuepper.

A celebration of Elsie's life will be held Wednesday, December 2 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 901 Park Avenue in Roanoke Rapids with Bishop Blaine Given officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, 731 Roanoke Avenue Roanoke Rapids on Tuesday, December 1 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
